Bol introduces Shophulp, an AI assistant that helps customers find products based on personal needs and situations. The beta version of Shophulp is available starting today in the bol app and on the website.
The online webshop Bol.com is launching a new AI shopping assistant called Shophulp. Users can indicate what they are looking for in natural language, after which Shophulp provides targeted product recommendations. The AI tool can be found next to the search bar in the bol app and on the website, and is available to all customers in a beta version.
More than traditional searches #
AI agents are increasingly being used as personal assistants for various tasks. Bol is also jumping on this bandwagon with Shophulp. This AI assistant makes it possible to search much more extensively than with just search terms or filters. For example, customers can describe what they are looking for products for, such as a camping trip, and add relevant details such as destination, season, or number of travelers. The AI translates this information into concrete product recommendations, including current prices and delivery times.
If desired, Shophulp takes existing customer data into account, such as previous purchases or wish lists. The AI assistant can also compile practical lists, for example, a packing list for camping. The final choice and purchase always remain with the customer, who completes the process as usual on the platform. You can also use Shophulp without an account.
Beta version #
According to bol, the goal of Shophulp is not to put AI itself at the center, but to better guide customers in making choices. The assistant asks additional questions where necessary and helps with comparing products. For sales partners, Shophulp offers an additional way to bring relevant items to the attention of customers without requiring changes to the assortment.
The beta version of Shophulp is monitored by specialists, who process customer feedback and input from partners. The technology was first tested internally and then gradually rolled out to a broader user group. Based on these experiences, the AI assistant is continuously adjusted and improved.
