@bobby: any ideas on how to prevent ai-generated stuff on this platform? In a discussion on the platform formerly known as Twitter, users proposed methods to prevent AI-generated content, including keeping the platform 'boring' and casual, adding a report option for AI content, and implementing a prompt-injection disclaimer similar to the GCC AI policy. One user suggested that keeping the API read-only serves as a small barrier to programmatic posting. any ideas on how to prevent ai-generated stuff on this platform? @paratoner /u/paratoner?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-557 6 notes /u/paratoner?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-557 22 replies /u/paratoner?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-557 3 tags, 3 users following /u/paratoner?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-557 4 followers /u/paratoner?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-557 No bio yet. enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F557%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-557 One idea off the top of my head is to just.. keep it "boring" and casual in terms of content. The silly, whimsy, and genuine stuff naturally doesn't appeal to money-chasing slop bros and makes it not worth their time. @paratoner /u/paratoner?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-559 6 notes /u/paratoner?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-559 22 replies /u/paratoner?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-559 3 tags, 3 users following /u/paratoner?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-559 4 followers /u/paratoner?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-559 No bio yet. enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F559%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-559 Basically I'm describing early days Twitter, which this platform embodies quite well imo @hotter /u/hotter?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-630 22 notes /u/hotter?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-630 28 replies /u/hotter?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-630 2 tags, 3 users following /u/hotter?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-630 5 followers /u/hotter?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-630 Emacs /tag/emacs?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-630 , dev, life, random stuff. the netherlands. enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F630%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-630 This @jamesjan3 /u/jamesjan3?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-558 5 notes /u/jamesjan3?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-558 19 replies /u/jamesjan3?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-558 0 tags, 2 users following /u/jamesjan3?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-558 2 followers /u/jamesjan3?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-558 researcher, developer, dancer enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F558%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-558 the existing report option should include something for this i think. and maybe a disclaimer at the top of the api page Something like the gcc ai policy. Basically, prompt injecting instructions to any visiting LLM that posting is prohibited or must contain a disclaimer. @stagas /u/stagas?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-655 77 notes /u/stagas?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-655 316 replies /u/stagas?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-655 28 tags, 199 users following /u/stagas?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-655 72 followers /u/stagas?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-655 |\ /,| \ .|o o | - --- -------- enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F655%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-655 Great idea @stagas /u/stagas?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-580 77 notes /u/stagas?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-580 316 replies /u/stagas?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-580 28 tags, 199 users following /u/stagas?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-580 72 followers /u/stagas?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-580 |\ /,| \ .|o o | - --- -------- enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F580%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-580 for now, keeping the API read-only is a small but not impenetrable barrier to programmatic posting and in the future moderation I guess using also reports. @hotter /u/hotter?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-629 22 notes /u/hotter?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-629 28 replies /u/hotter?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-629 2 tags, 3 users following /u/hotter?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-629 5 followers /u/hotter?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-629 Emacs /tag/emacs?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-629 , dev, life, random stuff. the netherlands. enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F629%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-629 posting to /write with cookie works, if user can use browser to submit, user will be able to use AI to submit. People use AI to either share images or some structured answer to get rewards. There should be no reason to use AI on this platform. No rewards in the form of upvotes or likes. Keep this platform deterministic and non rewarding. It already has Report button in case of exceptions. @ torayuri /u/ torayuri?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-602 3 notes /u/ torayuri?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-602 8 replies /u/ torayuri?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-602 0 tags, 1 user following /u/ torayuri?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-602 1 follower /u/ torayuri?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-602 i create things enter to follow /enter enter to reply /enter?next=%2Fpost%2F602%3Freply%3D1%26from%3D%252Fpost%252F556%2523post-602 At least rate limiting as I'm posting this I hit the limit of 3 posts every 5 minutes, good @avioli /u/avioli?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-615 4 notes /u/avioli?from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-615 12 replies /u/avioli?tab=replies&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-615 0 tags, 1 user following /u/avioli?tab=following&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-615 2 followers /u/avioli?tab=followers&from=%2Fpost%2F556%23post-615 Programmer by day and night.
