# BNB Chain updates Agent Studio v3 with new wallet and payment features

The latest release adds Trust Wallet support, self-funding AI agents, and expanded stablecoin payments through the x402/B402 protocol

BNB Chain has rolled out the third major version of its Agent Studio platform, giving developers building autonomous AI agents a fresh set of tools to work with. The v3 update introduces compatibility with additional wallets, simplified access to testnet funds, and expanded payment capabilities designed to reduce the amount of hand-holding these agents need from their creators.

The headline feature is support for the Trust Wallet Agent Kit, known as TWAK, which opens the platform to one of crypto’s most widely used mobile wallets. Pair that with easier access to tBNB testnet tokens, and the barrier to spinning up and testing AI agents on BNB Chain just got meaningfully lower.

## What’s actually in the update

The v3 release targets three areas that tend to create friction for developers working at the intersection of AI and blockchain: wallet integration, payments, and fund management.

Payments got a significant expansion through the x402/B402 protocol, which now supports stablecoin transactions. Think of x402 as a standardized way for AI agents to pay for services on-chain, similar to how HTTP status codes work for web browsers but designed specifically for machine-to-machine commerce. The B402 variant is BNB Chain’s implementation of this standard.

Developers also gain access to spending limits and customizable payment sessions. In practical terms, this means you can deploy an AI agent that handles transactions autonomously while capping how much it can spend in a given period.

Perhaps the most technically interesting addition is the self-funding capability. AI agents can now automatically top up their own wallets when balances run low, pulling from pre-approved funding sources. User keys remain secure throughout this process, with support for local keystores and cloud solutions like AWS AgentCore.

## Building on a rapid release cycle

BNB Agent Studio first launched on BSC mainnet in July 2026. That initial version shipped with a built-in wallet, on-chain identity support through the ERC-8004 standard, and the original x402 payment protocol.

The v2 update followed roughly a month later in mid-August, adding on-chain payments and TypeScript support. That release also introduced tighter fund management controls, addressing early feedback from developers who wanted more granular oversight of how their agents handled money.

The platform appears to operate on a biweekly update cadence. Each version has layered new capabilities on top of the previous release rather than overhauling the architecture. v1 established the foundation. v2 made it functional for real transactions. v3 is about reducing the operational overhead that makes autonomous agents impractical at scale.

## The bigger picture for AI agents on-chain

The Trust Wallet integration is strategically significant. Developers building on Agent Studio can now target users who already have Trust Wallet installed rather than asking them to set up something new.

The expanded stablecoin payment support through x402/B402 also addresses a practical concern. Most AI agent use cases involve frequent, small transactions. Paying for those in volatile native tokens adds unnecessary complexity. Stablecoins make the cost structure predictable, which matters enormously when you’re trying to build a business model around agent-powered services.

BNB Chain’s roadmap includes additional wallet options, enterprise-grade key security features, and a management dashboard.
