Steve Bannon, who has been described as the mastermind behind MAGA, and the senator are teaming up to push for control over artificial intelligence. Both will appear at the “Pro-Human Assembly” on Tuesday in Washington.
According to The Daily Beast, organizers wrote in the schedule, “By centering our common humanity, we maintain a space grounded in trust and collaborative problem-solving to chart a pro-human future with AI.”
Bannon and Sanders will highlight the need for AI regulation and push for greater control over the technology as both sides have raised concerns over AI. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has warned about AI risks and called for slowing down the pace. OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman has also expressed similar concerns.
Several figures have reportedly asked the federal government for regulation to curb artificial intelligence.
Along with Bannon and Sanders, several Hollywood celebrities would attend the event, including Ashley Judd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Bannon said in an earlier statement, “Oligarchs are finally being forced to admit they’ve lied from the beginning about the dangers of acceleration with zero guardrails—they’ve put the nation and mankind in jeopardy.”
Both Democrats and Republicans have raised concerns over the growing risk of AI.
However, Donald Trump has rejected the warnings surrounding AI. Trump called it a “SICK conspiracy” created by “Conspiracy Theorists, Treasonists, Traitors, and Leakers.
On his Truth Social, Trump said, “The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades! The Trump Administration has stopped AI ‘people’ from doing bad, or potentially bad, ‘things,’ like Dario (Anthropic!), who is now pretending to be a ‘perfect little angel’—and we will continue to do so!”
