What was done #
An unofficial Home Assistant integration that enables local Bluetooth control of BerlinGreen indoor gardens, including light settings, scheduling, and water status monitoring.
The ha-greenbox project provides an unofficial Home Assistant integration for controlling BerlinGreen indoor gardens over Bluetooth. The Bluetooth protocol was reverse-engineered from a single GreenBox unit. The integration supports light control (on/off, brightness, and color temperature), water tank status, and scheduling. It also includes diagnostic sensors for raw, undecoded registers. The author notes that the integration connects to the device periodically every five minutes or upon command, as the hardware supports only one Bluetooth connection at a time. While the integration is functional, it is explicitly tested only with the standard GreenBox model and not the Plus version. The project documentation identifies several areas for further research, including decoding remaining registers (T, f, r) and investigating clock synchronization. Development commits indicate that Claude Opus 5.5 co-authored the implementation of features such as water sensors, scheduling, and brand icon integration.
