Berkeley Law Auditing Policy Berkeley Law has implemented a new auditing policy restricting class audits to current JSP, JSD, traditional-track LLM, 2L, and 3L JD students, as well as law school visiting scholars, all requiring professor approval and available seats. First-year JD students are barred from auditing classes, while visiting scholars are limited to auditing one class per semester with additional approval from the Visiting Scholars Program director. Only current JSP, JSD, traditional-track LLM, 2L, and 3L JD students, as well as law school visiting scholars, may audit graduate-level law classes with the professor’s approval, provided the class is not fully enrolled. First year JD students 1Ls may not audit classes. Please note that law school visiting scholars are limited to auditing at maximum one class per semester and must also have approval from the Director of the Visiting Scholars Program.
