B&H is running limited-time SSD deals this month, up to $540 off despite all the shortages and price hikes

SSDs remain pricey, but these deals can help soften the blow

Popular US retailer B&H is currently running a selection of internal SSD deals, ideal for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming PC with some speedy storage for less. There’s a mixture of older SATA drives and newer NVMe drives available, all of which are currently at their lowest price in the last 180 days.
SSDs are ideal for gaming, and with storage space ranging from 256GB up to 8TB, there’s a good amount of variety here. Do keep in mind that these offers won’t be around forever, and the majority of them will expire within June. Discounts range from $20 for a 256GB drive, all the way up to $400 for the biggest-ticket item. You’ll find a $540 discount further down below.

Much like RAM (DDR5 in particular), SSD prices have been affected by ongoing shortages, fueled by AI data center demand. Traditional hard drives aren’t obsolete, but NAND storage stock is being prioritized to speed up AI inference. As such, it has proven to be a difficult time to upgrade your storage for cheap, but these ongoing B&H deals finally provide some relief.

While these don’t make the ‘cheapest in the last 180 days’ list, we think they’re well worth mentioning as internal SSD options. In fact, we’d say they’re better deals than the options above, though we don’t know how long they’ll be around.
ProductPriceSamsung 2TB 9100 PRO PCIe 5.0 M.2$679.99 $429.99Samsung 2TB 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2$639.99 $369.99Samsung 2TB 870 EVO SATA III 2.5″$1,039.99 $499.99Crucial 2TB BX500 SATA III 2.5″$399.99 $289.99
Sadly, many prices – especially high-end models and larger storage capacities – remain heavily inflated compared to their original MSRPs. SSD pricing isn’t expected to return to normal any time soon, so these deals are still worth taking a look at. If you’re just looking to top up your PC with more storage, then a lower-capacity drive may be your best bet for a cheaper upgrade.
If you’re looking for the very best performance from the selection of deals above, we’d have to recommend the Kingston FURY Renegade G5 drive. This is actually one we reviewed earlier this year (albeit not the 4TB model, but the 2TB and 8TB variants). We praised it for its incredible read/write speeds, strong thermals, and lengthy warranty. Sadly, the 1TB and 2TB models are already out of stock on B&H, so if you don’t need 4TB of space, we would definitely recommend one of the 2TB Samsung PROs instead.

852Would you buy a bare bones Steam Machine?Would you buy a variant of the Steam Machine with no RAM and/or no SSD and install them separately to help save on costs? No, I want the Steam Machine to be complete Yes, I would buy a RAM-less version Yes, I would buy an SSD-less version I'd buy a bare bones version with neither component
