# Audeara turns up the volume on AI licensing as chip tech enters commercial production

**Audeara’s chip-level AI audio licensing partnership with Optek Microelectronics moves into commercial production across two customer programs****Milestone represents first revenue-generating deployment of Audeara’s proprietary AI audio technology under fee-per-chip licensing model****Validates Audeara’s ability to integrate and monetise proprietary AI algorithms on third-party semiconductor platforms**

*Special Report: *Personalised hearing technology company Audeara has hit a new note in its AI audio strategy as its chip-level licensing partnership with China-based Optek Microelectronics moves from development into commercial production.

Two customer product programs under [ Audeara’s (ASX:AUA)](https://stockhead.com.au/company/audeara-aua/) chip-level AI Audio licensing agreement with Optek, a leading system-on-chip (SoC) design company, have entered commercial production.

[Audeara announced late last year](https://stockhead.com.au/tech/audeara-lands-major-chip-level-ai-audio-licensing-deal/) it had secured an agreement with Optek for the licensing of its proprietary AUAI audio processing algorithms for integration into Optek’s SoC platforms.

Licensed technologies include:

- AUAI NR – AI Noise Reduction;
- AUAI MPA – Media Personalisation Algorithm;
- Customised audio processing libraries for Optek SoC platforms; and
- Project-specific audio software tools and base functional IP.

The deal enabled AUA Technology AI to be embedded directly onto Optek chips, being revenue-generative for Audeara on a fee-per-chip basis for designated customer programs.

**Commercial milestone validates licensing strategy**

The commercial milestone follows an extensive period of development, validation and customer acceptance and represents the first revenue-generating deployment of Audeara’s proprietary AI audio technologies under its fee-per-chip licensing model.

Audeara said the first commercial purchase orders valued at ~$31,000 were not financially material in isolation but validated the company’s strategy of licensing its proprietary AI technologies to semiconductor partners and global OEM/ODM customers.

The transition into commercial production demonstrates Audeara’s ability to:

- Adapt and optimise its proprietary AI audio algorithms for third-party semiconductor platforms;
- Satisfy the technical requirements of a semiconductor partner and its customer;
- Progress an AI audio program through development, validation and customer acceptance; and
- Monetise its technology through a scalable, capital light fee-per-chip model.

Audeara said the successful deployment included its AI noise-reduction technology, which had been implemented on-chip.

The company said it was a capability important for audio applications requiring low latency, constrained processing resources and high-quality speech and sound processing.

Audeara continues to optimise its AI technology suite for potential applications across consumer audio, hearables, assistive-listening products and hearing aids, where processing efficiency, latency and speech clarity are critical.

**Proven its capabilities **

Audeara CEO James Fielding said the company had proven its competitive advantage.

“This is an important milestone for Audeara as we have demonstrated that our AI Audio technology can be successfully deployed ‘on chip’ which makes us a valuable provider moving forwards.

“This first deployment validates both our capital light licensing strategy and proves a pathway for our technology to be deployed efficiently and at scale.

“Companies who can adapt existing silicon and extract as much capability out of a semiconductor platform as possible will have a competitive advantage.

“We’ve just proven we can do that.”
