Are You Human? Facebook 'Verified' Wants to Know Meta is launching Facebook Verified, a free human-verification badge that appears next to names on Marketplace, Dating, Groups, and Profile to confirm real people as AI-generated content rises. The badge, rolling out in select markets on Monday, requires a video selfie for users over 18 in good standing. Separately, Meta released the Seller app for Facebook Marketplace on iOS in the US, offering tools like AI-generated listings and bulk posting. Meta is rolling out a new app for Facebook Marketplace and adding a free human-verification badge to the Facebook app. Called Facebook Verified, the badge is a simple, monochrome checkmark that appears next to your name on Marketplace, Dating /digital-life/127182/facebook-dating , Groups, and Profile. Very soon, it will also appear next to names in general feeds. The idea is to prevent deceptive practices. “As AI makes it easier to generate content, profiles, and messages, we want to provide a way for you to know there is a real person on the other side of a profile,” Meta says. The badge will begin rolling out in select markets on Monday https://about.fb.com/news/2026/07/connecting-real-people-on-facebook/ . To get one, you’ll have to submit a short video selfie, which Meta will compare with your photos to confirm it is really you. At launch, it will only be available for users above 18, “who are in good standing with our Community Standards,” Meta says. Another Way to Ask 'Is This Still Available'? The Facebook Marketplace /social-media/163779/is-this-still-available-facebook-marketplace-now-lets-meta-ai-respond app, meanwhile, is called Seller. It doesn’t replace Marketplace, but takes all your existing data from the service and puts it in a “dedicated space to manage listings, reach buyers, and grow your business.” The Seller app is currently available on the iOS App Store for US users aged 18 or older. You can sync the app with your Facebook account to import your existing listings, messages, and selling history. Any listing you create in the Seller app will automatically appear on Facebook Marketplace as well. Users also get a few handy tools with Seller. The app’s home page gives an overview of items to ship, messages from buyers, and due price revisions. You can use Meta AI to quickly generate title, description, and price suggestions, and publish listings quickly. There’s also a bulk listing feature that helps create multiple listings at once. Like the Facebook app, Seller brings a dedicated space for incoming messages and performance insights as well. Meta’s screenshots suggest the whole experience has been redesigned to feel more intuitive.
