Arduino’s VENTUNO Q, which runs Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, went up for pre-order in August– and already sold through.
The board is targeted at edge AI, robotics and industrial use and is priced from $299. Arduino bill it as their “most advanced platform” yet, made to “give developers, makers, educators, and engineers a board that doesn’t just perceive the world, but interacts with it”.
The VENTUNO Q 1 uses a “dual-brain” architecture built on a Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-8275, with an octa-core Qualcomm Kryo CPU, Adreno 623 GPU and Hexagon NPU paired with a separate STM32H5F5 microcontroller for real-time motor control.
The NPU is good for up to 40 TOPS, which allows AI vision-language models, speech recognition and gesture recognition tasks to run on-device.
It also comes with with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage to house the OS, AI models and local data, with an M.2 connector for NVMe Gen4 storage expansion. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port are also built in.
Vision workloads are a big use-case so the board has three MIPI-CSI connectors and two additional ones via the JMEDIA header. HDMI and USB-C DisplayPort, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a barrel jack for power also come included.
A 40-pin GPIO header allows existing Arduino and Raspberry Pi add-ons to be used, and CAN-FD offers connectivity for professional motor controllers and industrial networks.
The VENTUNO Q ships with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS preinstalled, and the Arduino App Lab IDE, but it does support Zephyr Project real-time-OS too. Debian support is coming later this year.

As of writing, VENTUNO Q pre-orders have sold through on the Arduino Store, but some resellers do have it on backorder so it’s worth following the links from the store to those in your country to check.
This isn’t general-purpose SBC; it’s designed for edge AI and robotics use cases. If you all you want to do is run Kodi, retro emulators and watch YouTube in Firefox on Ubuntu, there are faster, cheaper options out there – though not as cheap as they once were, sadly.
