Apple trains its own AI model for China market with Alibaba's support, sources

Apple Inc. is training its own artificial intelligence model for the Chinese market with support from Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., according to two sources familiar with the matter, as the iPhone maker seeks to comply with local regulations requiring AI models to be approved by the Chinese government. The move comes as Apple faces declining sales in China, where domestic rivals like Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. have gained ground with AI-powered features.
