Apple releasing 20th anniversary iPhone, AirPods with cameras next year: report Apple plans to release a 20th anniversary iPhone with an edge-to-edge display, a second-generation foldable iPhone, and AirPods with built-in cameras in late 2027, according to a Bloomberg report. The AirPods, initially slated for 2026, were delayed due to Apple's AI software struggles. The anniversary iPhones will feature a 2-nanometer A21 chip. A new Bloomberg report today details three major new products from Apple coming in late 2027: the 20th anniversary iPhone, a second-generation foldable iPhone, and AirPods with built-in cameras. First, Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s camera-equipped AirPods are “scheduled to launch in late 2027.” This product was initially slated to be released this year, but was pushed back due to Apple Intelligence and Siri delays: The AirPods, code-named B798, were originally slated for release in 2026, according to the people. The deadline slipped in part because of Apple’s prolonged struggles with artificial intelligence software. The company also had to develop visual AI models capable of identifying objects in a user’s surroundings. The timing of all the products remains fluid and could change. Alongside the AirPods with cameras, Bloomberg reports that Apple is on track to launch an all-new iPhone lineup. Headlining the new iPhone lineup in 2027 will be a 20th anniversary model with a “nearly edge-to-edge display.” This design will also feature “curved glass that wraps around the sides.” According to Gurman, this iPhone will be available in two models that are “similar sizes” to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple will also launch a second-generation foldable iPhone in late 2027. The anniversary models, code-named V73 and V74, will succeed the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max coming this year, and debut in similar sizes. Both the anniversary and second-generation foldable models will run on a 2-nanometer A21 chip internally dubbed Naxos. In 2028, Apple’s high-end iPhones will be powered by the A22 Pro chip, which could use a new 1.4-nanometer production technology. More imminently, of course, Apple will announce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max later this year powered by the A20 Pro chip . The standard iPhone 18 will launch in early 2027 powered by the base A20 chip .
