Apple dips its toe into AI, but will AI companies compete in hardware?

Apple debuted new Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features, according to Bob O'Donnell, president of TECHnalysis Research, LLC, who discussed the launch with Yahoo Finance's Julie Hyman on September 10, 2026. O'Donnell said the move marks Apple's entry into competition with AI companies, and raised the question of whether those AI companies will in turn compete in hardware.
