I’m not ready to share it yet – I just want to see if there is interest enough to justify me putting in the time to finish it enough to share it. I starting building it to replace PouchDb (and node) in a SvelteKit desktop app, but I have decided to cancel the SvelteKit app.
It’s not a complete “clone” – it works for my app as a drop-in, but I would need to port the pouch tests and do more addition, refactoring and cleaning up before I could share it.
Uses SQLite under the hood.

I had not planned to use LLM – I just asked claude.ai about “would you advise trying to build a PouchDb clone in Zig or is that too big for one person” – and it just went ahead and generated skeleton code, so I figure, might as well start there. At this point, probably half of the code was initially generated by claude.ai, but all of it has been refactored or edited for errors. (It seems to not be familiar with the latest Zig APIs, and makes a lot of mistakes.)
