Anubis "browser is configured to disable cookies" error with Mullvad Browser (no VPN) — anyone else?

Users of Mullvad Browser are hitting an "Oh noes! Your browser is configured to disable cookies" error page on Anubis v1.25.0 proof-of-work challenges instead of the challenge completing, according to a forum post. The poster attributes the failure to Mullvad Browser not reliably setting Anubis' challenge and verification cookies, and asks whether others are seeing the same behavior.
