As of today, Claude Cowork and Chat are integrated into a single platform, meaning users no longer have to choose where to start their task.
Anthropic is bringing its Claude Cowork and Chat together into one platform. This means you no longer have to manually move the slider in Claude to Chat or Cowork, depending on your specific task. According to Anthropic, users found it difficult to determine where a particular task belonged; that is now a thing of the past. Simultaneously, Claude Docs and Slides are being introduced, allowing documents and presentations to be created and shared directly within conversations.
Chat and Cowork as one team #
By merging Chat and Cowork, Claude makes it easier to start and execute diverse tasks from a single conversation. Where users previously had to choose between Cowork for larger projects and Chat for quick questions, everything can now happen within the same context.
For example, users can have a report written, provide feedback on slides, and share or download the results directly without leaving the environment. Planning recurring tasks, such as weekly reports, is also possible. Claude can automatically get to work as a deadline approaches, and users always maintain control over when and how the AI checks in.
Claude Docs and Slides #
In addition to the merger, the company is introducing new features for generating and editing documents, presentations, and visual elements, namely Claude Docs and Claude Slides. Users can edit documents or presentations directly in Claude, and subsequently download files in PowerPoint or PDF format. The updates are first being rolled out to Pro and Max subscriptions on web, desktop, and mobile, with other plans to follow later.
