Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5.5, replacing Sonnet 5 as its mid-tier model at unchanged pricing of $2 per million input tokens, $10 per million output tokens, and $0.20 per million cache reads. Anthropic said Sonnet 5.5 generates output more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5, uses far fewer tokens for the same work, and is the first Sonnet model to ship with cybersecurity safeguards and fallbacks comparable to those on Opus 5, following the Opus 5.5 launch last week.
