According to The New Stack, Anthropic is making auto mode the default permission model in Claude Code beginning August 14, shifting from opt-in to opt-out autonomous execution. In auto mode, a second Claude Sonnet 5 model grades consequential actions before execution against a classifier ruleset; The New Stack found 44 KB of the classifier's prompt is undocumented and inaccessible, governing when documented safety rules bend.
