This article is about Anthropic Interviewer, which is a research survey tool running on our consumer products such as Claude Free, Pro, and Max. Anthropic Interviewer is not currently available for our commercial products such as Claude for Work and the Anthropic API.
If you completed an Anthropic Interviewer session on or after September 29, 2026, this article describes how we collect and use your responses. For sessions completed at other times, see this article. When you participate in an Anthropic Interviewer session, we collect the responses you provide during the interview, any associated survey or study metadata, associated account data, and metadata about your participation (such as timestamps and session identifiers). We refer to this information collectively as “Study Participation Data”. You can learn more about how we handle this data in the Privacy Policy.
Your responses and account information may also be used for research and improvements. We may publish and share aggregated or de-identified research summaries. We may also publish and share your de-identified responses, consistent with the choices you make during a session, where applicable.
In particular, to support open research, and to inform public understanding of these issues we may share Study Participation Data with select third parties such as external researchers or journalists, again, consistent with the choices you make during a session, where applicable.
We may also give you the option to make your interview publicly available. If you choose to make your interview publicly available, we may publish it to support open research and public understanding of these issues. If we share or publish the interview externally, we will first de-link it from your Claude account information. We may decide not to share or publish an interview, for example if it does not meet our criteria. To better understand how the perspectives you share relate to the ways people use Claude, we may combine your interview responses with aggregated, privacy-preserving summaries of your Claude usage data. This analysis is done using automated techniques that group related responses together. Additionally, if you participate in more than one Anthropic Interviewer study, we may analyze your responses together to understand how perspectives change over time.
If you've enabled Memory, your interview responses may be added to your Memory or used to personalize future conversations with Claude, consistent with the choices you make during a session. We may contact you about your transcript, and to share published findings or insights from research interviews you've participated in.
Anthropic workers with a need to know will be able to access your Study Participation Data. Additionally, as with any conversation with Claude, Anthropic Interviewer sessions may be reviewed by our Trust and Safety team if flagged for review under our Usage Policy.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights in relation to your Study Participation Data, such as the right to access or delete it. You can learn more about these rights and how to exercise them in our Privacy Policy, or contact us. If you request deletion, we will delete your transcript from our internal stores and, if you consented to public release, our public repository. Please note that, if you consented to public release, we are not able to guarantee that this deletes all copies of your transcript. For example, in between publicly releasing your transcript and removing it from the public repository, other people may have accessed your transcript from the public repository and created copies of it.
