According to Anthropic's Claude Code documentation, Claude Code v2.1.224 and later now supports messaging between separate sessions on macOS and Linux, allowing one session to alert another when changes break dependent work or when a blocker is resolved. The feature uses ListAgents and SendMessage tools to coordinate across independent agent instances without moving full conversation history or files.
