Decoupling Verification from Data Storage #
Moca Foundation and Moca Network, an Animoca Brands project, have launched a blockchain network allowing users to carry verified digital credentials across applications without repeatedly sharing their underlying personal information. The network focuses on digital identity and enables organizations to issue verifiable credentials covering information such as identity verification and membership status.
According to Moca Network, users retain custody of those credentials and determine when and where they are shared. The launch comes as businesses increasingly grapple with fragmented digital identity systems that require customers to undergo similar verification procedures across multiple platforms. Moca Network argues that the problem could become more pronounced as artificial intelligence (AI) agents increasingly conduct transactions and interact with online services on behalf of users.
Under Moca Chain’s decentralized verification model, organizations can verify user information and issue tamper-resistant credentials linked to a unified digital identity. The approach reduces the amount of sensitive information companies need to store.
