AMD's $14 billion compute deal with Core Scientific is a lifeline for the neocloud

AMD has signed a leasing deal worth more than $14 billion with Core Scientific for 2.5GW of compute capacity, including at least 530MW for 15 years starting in 2027. The agreement expands access for customers to deploy AMD AI solutions at scale, according to AMD Chief Strategy Officer Mathew Hein.
