Lisa Su at AMD Advancing AI 2026 just launched the new Instinct MI455X GPUs and the Helios rack.
Instinct MI455X is AMD's new very potent accelerator offering with 432GB of HBM4 memory and manufactured on a 2nm process. The peak MXFP8 and MXFP4 come in at up to 4x the Instinct MI355X for a very loft generational upgrade. With 50% more HBM capacity is support for larger AI models.
Going along with the Instinct MI455X launch is the much anticipated Helios platform combining AMD EPYC Venice with Instinct MI455X GPUs and AMD Pensando networking.
AMD Helios is now in full production and it's mighty impressive from seeing it in person this week in San Francisco. Shipments happening later in the quarter and ramping into Q4 and H1'2027. Helios provides 4,600 CPU cores and 18,000 GPU compute units per rack.
AMD also reaffirmed that the Instinct MI500 series is on track for 2027 and Instinct MI600 series for 2028.
