Those products bolstered Microsoft’s “strengths” in its broad enterprise-based business model, range of offerings that cater to specific user needs, and AI integration to help maximize operational efficiencies.\n\nHowever, Microsoft was dinged by a lack of regional uniformity in services and prices, the need for additional assistance to navigate complex offerings, and an over-reliance on Azure-specific services.\n\nAWS was nuzzled up closely behind its rivals, backed by its Lambda serverless function, Fargate serverless container, Elastic Beanstalk managed application deployment, and AI offerings. Gartner touted Alibaba Cloud for providing a broad and cost-effective menu and for the scale of its support that “can run massive workloads at hyperscale.”\n\nGartner did nick Alibaba Cloud’s offerings for their overly tight integration into the vendor’s cloud ecosystem, and its lack of presence and understanding of markets outside of its China home.\n\nOthers noted in Gartner’s ranking included “challengers” Oracle and Cloudflare; “visionaries” (visionary?) Vercel; and “niche players” Tecent Cloud, Upsun, Netlify, and Render.
