# Amazon just broke one of Apple Wallet’s best recent features > Source: > Published: 2026-07-20 14:03:37+00:00 Apple Wallet has long supported order tracking, but just last year the feature became much more useful [thanks to an AI enhancement](https://9to5mac.com/2025/09/19/heres-everything-new-for-apple-wallet-in-ios-26/). With a new Amazon change though, Apple Wallet order tracking has just been downgraded again for Amazon shoppers. ## Amazon is removing product details from emails, making Apple Wallet order tracking mostly useless Apple Wallet is packed with a variety of compelling features. It’s home to your credit cards, digital ID, car keys, home keys, boarding passes, and more. Order tracking is another useful feature in Apple Wallet. You’ve technically been able to track your online orders in the Wallet app for years. But almost no retailers supported the feature, making it largely useless. Last year in iOS 26 though, Apple [gave order tracking a much-needed upgrade](https://9to5mac.com/2025/09/19/heres-everything-new-for-apple-wallet-in-ios-26/). It used AI to scan your email inbox for order info, then automatically added those orders to Wallet. That means retailers no longer need to sign on to support Apple Wallet order tracking. The feature just works, for orders from major sites like Amazon to small indie vendors. Except a new Amazon change largely just broke the feature for Amazon shoppers. Instead of including actual product details in its order-related emails, Amazon is rolling out a change where emails only mention products in vague category terms. For example, this morning I ordered three packs of diapers for my newborns, and Amazon’s email says I ordered “3 Drugstore Items.” I’d gotten used to seeing updates on Amazon orders via Apple Wallet notifications. But now, there’s no longer a reason for me to keep those alerts on. Since Amazon doesn’t include product details, the Wallet app can’t either. Whether you use Wallet order tracking or not, it’s an annoying change. Especially because, as far as I’m aware, there’s no way to opt out of these emails or get product details back. So if you shop Amazon very often, not only are these mandatory order-related emails largely useless now, but the Wallet app won’t offer much help either.
