AWS adds Elon Musk's flagship AI model to its cloud platform, giving enterprises another frontier option alongside Anthropic and OpenAI
AWS just added another heavyweight to its AI roster. Grok 4.3, the flagship reasoning model from Elon Musk’s xAI, is now generally available on Amazon Bedrock, giving enterprise customers yet another frontier model to plug into their workflows without managing infrastructure.
What Grok 4.3 actually brings to the table #
The model features a 1-million-token context window, making it particularly useful for digesting massive financial documents, legal contracts, or customer interaction histories.
xAI also claims Grok 4.3 has the lowest hallucination rate among frontier models in its category.
The model runs on Bedrock’s new Mantle inference engine, which handles tool calls, structured outputs, and real-time streaming. It also supports configurable reasoning effort levels, from none to high, letting developers dial computational intensity up or down depending on the task.
Pricing sits at $1.25 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens.
The cloud AI chess match #
AWS announced general availability on June 15, with xAI following up with its own announcement two days later. Discussions about the integration reportedly surfaced in late May, shortly after Grok 4.3 had its preliminary release through the xAI API in April.
Amazon Bedrock now hosts models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and xAI.
