AI use policy for Honeybadger blog Honeybadger has implemented a strict AI use policy for its blog, requiring all writing to be original work from the author. The policy permits limited use of AI tools for research, spelling and grammar checks, and code generation, but explicitly prohibits AI from shaping article structure, generating any portion of the content, or creating accompanying text and images. Violations will result in content rejection or contract termination. All writing must be your own original work. You are the author; while we permit limited use of AI in your research and editing process, we’re paying you for your unique voice and experience. You may use generative AI tools to: - Compile research and reference materials, like you’d use a search engine. LLMs hallucinate; verify all facts against primary sources. - Improve spelling and grammar. - Generate code. Provided you test and understand it end-to-end. You may not use generative AI to: - Shape the outline, structure, or narrative arc of your article. - Generate any portion of the contents, including individual sentences or paragraphs. - Produce any text that accompanies your article including social copy and metadata . - Create images or visualizations. If you use AI, note it briefly when you submit the draft e.g., "I used tool to check spelling" or "I used tool to research topic " . If you're unsure if a specific use is permitted, ask before you start working — not after. Content which violates this policy will be rejected. Repeated or undisclosed violations will result in termination of your contract.
