# AI starter pack for the X-curious

**Who this is for:** People who want to follow AI discourse from multiple perspectives, but find X intimidating, toxic, or hard to approach.

**What it is:** A prompt you paste into the ChatGPT or Claude desktop app to get your X feed set up for following AI. This list of ~200 accounts is admittedly imperfect and incomplete, but it includes many of the most important voices in AI across research, policy, economics, business, finance, applications, and practical use, with a range of political and ideological orientations. At the very least, it’s a good 80/20.

**Why I made it:** I know a lot of people who are curious about AI but don’t use X. This is a shame, because X is without substitute when it comes to understanding AI and its implications. I’ve always suspected that if these folks could get set up properly on X, they’d get a lot out of it. This is my attempt to make that easy.

**How to use it:**

1. Log into [X](https://x.com/) on your computer. If you don’t have an account, create one first.
2. Open the [ChatGPT desktop app](https://chatgpt.com/download/) or the[Claude desktop app](https://claude.com/download) .
3. Paste in the prompt below and let your agent do the rest. The agent will guide you through connecting your browser if needed.

**Tip for using X after you’re set up:** “Like” posts you find interesting. This teaches X what you want to see. The more you do it, the better your feed gets.

Help me turn X into a useful feed for following AI news and discussion.

First, check whether browser control is connected. If it isn’t, guide me through enabling it and wait until it’s ready before continuing.

Open x.com in an external browser, preferably Google Chrome. If I’m not signed in, pause while I sign in (or create an account) myself, then continue.

1. Reduce political noise and rage bait.
Browse my “For you” feed and mark 10 posts as “Not interested” using each post’s three-dot menu. Choose clear examples of U.S. electoral horse-race coverage, partisan fighting, or content designed mainly to provoke anger. Apply this regardless of political viewpoint. Keep substantive AI policy discussion and good-faith disagreement.

If you don’t find 10 clear examples within 100 posts, move on.

2. Follow the accounts below.
Create a goal to work through the entire list. Use each @handle to find the account; names and descriptions are just context. Follow accounts one at a time, confirming each result. Skip duplicates and accounts I already follow; record unavailable accounts and move on. Keep a saved checklist so you can resume without repeating the feed cleanup or completed follows.

If X shows a rate limit, stop immediately and save the exact message, time, and next unfinished handle. Create or update one automation in this same chat to resume the goal from the checklist, then pause the goal and end the run. Use X’s stated retry time if available; otherwise retry after 1 hour, or 24 hours for an explicit daily limit. If the 1-hour retry is still blocked, wait 24 hours. If a 24-hour retry makes no progress, disable the automation and tell me what is blocking it.

I authorize these pauses and scheduled resumptions without further confirmation. Resume only when the cooldown has elapsed. If browser access or sign-in is unavailable, or X shows a security check, account lock, or follower-ratio restriction, pause the goal and automation and ask me to resolve it. Don’t keep retrying those conditions.

When the list is finished, mark the goal complete, disable the automation, and summarize the results and any accounts you couldn’t follow. Notify me when a retry is first scheduled, when my help is needed, and when finished; otherwise keep routine retries quiet. If scheduling isn’t available, save progress and tell me when to resume manually.

You have my permission to mark posts “Not interested” and follow the listed accounts without asking about each one. Don’t post, like, repost, message, unfollow, mute, or block anyone.
