AI Output

A user explains their limited use of AI outside of work due to the time required to read lengthy AI outputs, but notes that tools like Ponytail are emerging to make AI responses more concise.

Had a really good conversation with a colleague the other day as to why I don’t use AI a whole lot outside of when work mandates usage of AI.

If I come across a long blog post, I rarely read the whole post unless it’s written by an author I know from before or if it’s linked by someone who I know recommends good content. The attention span I have is slowly shrinking and I want to allocate it to a few things during the day.

Using AI gives me the same feeling. I write a few things as part of my prompt and now the ball is in my court to read the output. It’s usually 5 times longer than what I needed as the answer. Now I spend more time reading the output and see if it got everything right.

AI is getting better at solving this problem though. I came across this tool yesterday. A man in the middle which reads AI output and then asks the AI to be more concise with the output.
