Product revenues rose by 24%, with CEO Chuck Robbins stating that total product orders for the quarter jumped 35%.\n\nBut Cisco saw strength in telecom and service provider customers in the quarter ending July 25, 2026; AI infrastructure sales from hyperscalers were a leading growth driver, with Robbins revealing that four unnamed hyperscalers alone accounted for AI infrastructure orders “in the triple digits.”\n\n“We took $4 billion in [hyperscale] orders in Q4, bringing the total for FY 2026 to $9.3 billion, approximately 4.5 times our fiscal year 2025 total,” Robbins told investors. “The mix of these orders in both Q4 and FY 2026 was approximately 60% Silicon One-based systems and 40% optics.”\n\nThe CEO said that to date (August 12), Cisco has shipped more than 850,000 400G optics and more than 75,000 800G coherent pluggable optics and that sales are set to increase.\n\n“As AI workloads become increasingly distributed across clusters and facilities, we believe demand for this technology will remain strong, and I’m incredibly proud of our market leadership in this space,” Robbins told investors.\n\nIn addition to optics, Cisco’s CEO said that its Silicon One P200-powered lines for scale-across networking – in which physically disparate data centers are linked together – were driving hyperscale interest.\n\nRobbins said that following the [ASIC’s launch](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/cisco-unveils-new-asic-for-ai-networks-and-next-gen-security/) late last year, three hyperscalers are using it to power their scale-across networks and that it has received more orders in Q4.\n\n“We believe this is only the beginning of the scale-across motion,” Robbins said. “As AI models grow in complexity and size, hyperscalers need to connect or scale across multiple data centers due to physical and power limitations in a single data center. Power efficiency, reliability, and scale are critical in ensuring distributed GPUs function as if they were in the same location.\n\n“Given these requirements, Cisco is well-positioned with our P200 powered systems, market-leading optics, open line systems, and coming soon, multi-rail optical systems to provide hyperscalers the technology needed for these complex use cases.”\n\n## Agentic AI to drive networking super cycle\n\nWhile Cisco chases those sweet hyperscale sales, CEO Robbins pointed to the rising adoption of agentic AI to further fuel the already impressive demand for networking products.\n\nHe told investors that agentic AI was set to fuel a “networking super cycle” with customers investing in networking stacks for inferencing across cloud, on-premise, and edge environments.\n\nRobbins detailed that Cisco sees agentic AI’s impact on the threat landscape as a potential demand driver for the vendor’s security and observability solutions to help monitor agent behavior and mitigate evolving threats.\n\n“We do believe that this super cycle is underway, and we think that the network remains an absolutely critical factor as to whether AI deployments succeed or fail. We view that role as critical,” he added.\n\nCisco’s CEO said that his own company was getting in on the agentic AI hype, using generative agentic systems across its customer experience organization to “dramatically expedite quote turnaround and case resolution times.”\n\nRobbins revealed that in FY 26, 145,000 support cases were resolved entirely by AI with zero human intervention. Meanwhile, Circuit, Cisco’s in-house proprietary AI assistant, handled more than 75 million prompts in Q4 alone, the CEO added.\n\n“Circuit runs on our secure AI factory infrastructure, which improves GPU utilization and automatically routes each task to the appropriate large language model, allowing us to manage token consumption.”\n\n## Wi-Fi 7, AI helping drive campus demand\n\nWhile Cisco is making inroads in the AI space, its Q4 earnings call revealed that more than half of its customers were purchasing both campus and data center networking solutions.\n\nQ4 2026 was the eighth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth for Cisco’s networking portfolio, Robbins said, adding that modernization efforts are helping drive customer demands.\n\nRobbins said that Wi-Fi 7-related orders accounted for more than 50% of total wireless orders in Q4, with campus networking momentum being driven by both AI efforts and security projects.\n\nAn unnamed “frontier AI company” was cited among those having picked up Cisco’s campus networking solution, including Wi-Fi 7 access points, smart switches, and end-to-end segmentation, a move Robbins said would “enable innovation at speed and provide the security for that innovation as they rapidly scale to new locations.\"", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/ai-hyperscale-and-agentic-demands-helped-cisco-smash-revenue-records", "canonical_source": "https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/ai-hyperscale-and-agentic-demands-helped-cisco-smash-revenue-records/", "published_at": "2026-08-13 13:23:02+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-08-13 13:40:35.599207+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["artificial-intelligence", "ai-infrastructure", "ai-products", "ai-agents"], "entities": ["Cisco", "Mark Patterson", "Chuck Robbins", "Silicon One", "P200"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/ai-hyperscale-and-agentic-demands-helped-cisco-smash-revenue-records", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/ai-hyperscale-and-agentic-demands-helped-cisco-smash-revenue-records.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/ai-hyperscale-and-agentic-demands-helped-cisco-smash-revenue-records.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/ai-hyperscale-and-agentic-demands-helped-cisco-smash-revenue-records.jsonld"}}
