AI compliance issues hit 2 in 5 large companies, and legacy workflows are a big factor

Forty percent of large companies experienced an AI-related compliance or governance issue in the past 12 months, according to a survey of 1,000 senior IT, operations, and transformation leaders conducted by Sapio Research. Those leaders attributed 84 percent of the incidents to process-related problems, which the researchers trace to workflows designed around human approvals, handoffs, and manual exceptions. The findings indicate that dropping AI into legacy, people-centric processes is a major driver of compliance exposure.
