AI API uptime comparison, last 30 days: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and 43 more, measured from 4 regions

An independent uptime tracker measured observed availability for 46 AI API providers from four regions every five minutes between 18 September and 17 October 2026, finding Meta's Llama API (99.986%), Anthropic (99.985%), OpenRouter (99.985%) and Google Gemini (99.983%) most available, with OpenAI at 99.930%. The tracker's operator notes that averages among major providers differ by only hundredths of a percent, while the meaningful gap appears in the worst-performing region, where São Paulo and Tokyo consistently lag. Chinese providers trailed the field, with 01.AI (Yi) at 97.275% overall and 90.650% in its worst region after 10 attributed outages totaling 118 minutes.

Short answer. Between 18 September and 17 October 2026, the four most available AI APIs we probe were Meta's Llama API 99.986% , Anthropic 99.985% , OpenRouter 99.985% and Google Gemini 99.983% . OpenAI was at 99.930%. The spread among the big providers is a few hundredths of a percent; the difference that matters shows up in the worst region , not in the average.
