AI agents keep access to company data after their work is done

Delinea's 2026 Identity Security Report: The AI Enforcement Gap finds that IT identity-security teams are concerned about AI agents retaining access to company systems and continuing to act on users' behalf after their assigned work is done. "Written policy is only as good as your ability to enforce it at the moment an AI agent acts," said Delinea CEO Art Gilliland, who said the research echoes leaders who have AI policies but cannot enforce them.
