Adding Pushover notifications to Amp

Developer Jamie Tanna built a small TypeScript plugin for the Amp coding agent that sends Pushover notifications when an agent session ends, using Amp's agent.end plugin hook. Tanna wrote the plugin partly by hand and had Amp with Claude Opus 5.5 fix it up, choosing Amp's TypeScript-based plugins over extending the existing claude-hook CLI so no wrapper CLI was needed, though the approach yields less contextual information from the Thread. The plugin follows an earlier Pushover notification setup Tanna built for Claude Code, and the work comes as Amp now supports using a Claude subscription.
