# 80% accuracy: AI to transform renewable energy forecasting in Kazakhstan

"Samruk-Energy JSC is implementing a project to digitalize power generation planning processes at renewable energy facilities. The AI and machine learning-based solution is planned for launch at the end of 2026. Forecasting accuracy is especially important for wind generation facilities, since output volumes depend directly on meteorological conditions — particularly wind speed, which is highly variable and difficult to predict," the Energy Ministry said.

The solution is based on an AI model integrated with the meteorological service. The system will process meteorological data with the high spatial and temporal resolution required for forecasting the [output](https://qazinform.com/tag/energy_t838) of wind farms.

Besides, historical and operational data from the ASKUE (Automated Electricity Metering and Control System) and SCADA systems, including actual generation figures and equipment performance parameters, will be used to train and adapt the AI model.

According to the Energy Ministry, this will allow real operating conditions to be taken into account and improve generation forecast accuracy to 80%, contributing to more efficient operational planning and reducing financial losses associated with deviations between actual and declared outputs.
