2027 BYD Seal 06 Comes to Lidar BYD's 2027 Seal 06, launching today, adds lidar integrated into the roof/windshield and upgrades to God's Eye B ADAS from the 2026 model's God's Eye C, with power output increasing from 110 kW and 160 kW to 120 kW and 240 kW. The 2026 version costs 109,800 yuan ($16,273), and BYD sold over half a million Seal 06 units last year. 2027 BYD Seal 06 Comes to Lidar Support CleanTechnica's work through a Substack subscription https://cleantechnica.substack.com/subscribe , on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/cleantechnica , or on Stripe https://cleantechnica.fundjournalism.org/contribute/ . The car, which comes as both a pure electric model and a plug-in hybrid, has BYD’s God’s Eye B ADAS. That’s an upgrade from the 2026 BYD Seal 06, which comes with God’s Eye C and no lidar. The 2026 version costs just 109,800 yuan $16,273 . I assume the new version will be a similar price, even with the notable ADAS upgrade. The updated vehicle launches today. The car is super slick inside and includes several cool features, including a mini fridge https://youtu.be/zaX5Qs18his?si=RMA7AnZjT7xiEpWA&t=203 . I’m not a big fan of the exterior design of the model except when standing right in front of it, but the interior of the car is as nice and appealing as anything I’ve seen. The updated version is also more powerful than the 2026 model. Power output goes from 110 kW and 160 kW to 120 kW and 240 kW. BYD sold more than half a million units of the Seal 06 last year. With the 2027 model improving so much, could the model shoot way past half a million in 2027? Or would it be a success just to log half a million again? As one of the most popular electric cars in the world notably, coming as both a full electric model and a plug-in hybrid , I’m certainly excited about the upgrades and the launch of the 2027 model. How much can it boost the brand’s sales, and EV sales in general in China and globally?
