Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced that about 10 artificial intelligence and biotech companies will be the first to access cross-border data flows under a pilot scheme expected to roll out this year, giving them an early edge over roughly 100 other firms in the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP). Lee said more than 100 innovation and technology firms have moved into the HSITP, and a "white list" to facilitate cross-border movement for more than 1,000 workers will be ready by mid-next year alongside completion of the connection bridge on the Western side. The announcement came during the final policy address of Lee's term.
